The Xubuntu 6.06 installation CD is a `live CD', it will boot into the Ubuntu (with XFCE). My preference is to boot into the graphics `safe mode'. This will work, but the graphical display during boot is corrupted. Press the option key prior to boot and add `vga=771'. Unfortunately, the `equal =' key follows the US keymap, so you will need to press the Muramasa's `caret ^' key instead.
During installation, select the Japanese keyboard layout. The layout is not quite correct, though. The `closeing square bracket ] and closing curly bracket}' key is not correctly defined.
Again, when the boot menu is presented, Xubuntu graphical boot display will be corrupted. Select `e' for edit on the Xubuntu line, then choose `e' to edit the kernel line. Add `vga=771' to the end of the line. (For some reason, I keep in typing vga=711). `vga=771' can be added to the appropriate lines in /boot/grub/menu.lst.
