As of September 2010, the openSuSE packages are missing the file /etc/sysconfig/mythbackendopenSuSE packages are missing the file /etc/sysconfig/mythbackend. This result in the error...

/etc/init.d/mythbackend start

/etc/sysconfig/mythbackend not existing

As a result, when `mythfilldatabase' is run after `mythtv-setup' there are errors like...

Connection to master server timed out.

Either the server is down or the master server settings

in mythtv-settings does not contain the proper IP address

and mythfrontend also complains that the database is not contactable. By the way, I think mythbackend needs to be started manually anyway, and also configured in YaST -- System Services.

Audio mixer settings (in mythtvfrontend) again did not work for me. Set to `default' instead of, I think `/dev/mixer'.
