openSuSE 10.2, released in late 2006, well deserves commentary as being the best home-user Linux distribution ever. Installation was fairly quick and relatively painless. Boot times are much improved. The kernel is better than openSuSE 10.1, which means I did not have to tweak it to use my Advansys SCSI card. It is much more bug-free than openSuSE 10.1, the package system actually works now. I have not been tempted to install the SMART package system, unlike openSuSE 10.1. Third-party community support is also good, as a result recent versions of popular programs such as GnuCash are available.
